Syngman Rhee, President of South Korea, refuses to sign but pledges to observe the armistice. 1996 A pipe bomb exploded at a public park during the Olympic games in Atlanta, killing one person and injuring more than 100. 2003: Comic legend Bob Hope dies. American icon and legendary comedian Bob Hope dies just two months after celebrating his 100th birthday.
