Once again, PLA (Punjab) has started working for the advertisement of the vacant post of the librarians in Punjab. President PLA wrote several letters to authorities to expedite the process. on Friday, 28-11-2014 a meeting of PLA (Punjab) was held in Quid-i -Azam library followed by a meeting of PLA (Punjab) with secretary higher education in his office. Following were in attendance from Govt. side 1. Abdullah Khan Sumbal Secretary (Higher Education) 2. Silwat Saeed Additional Secretary (Establishment) 3. Syed Irtiza Naqvi Deputy Secretary (B&C) 4. Mr. Arshad Ahmed Deputy Secretary (EM) 5. Mr. Ishtiaq Ahmed, SO (Univ) President PLA advocated the case of librarians in highly appreciable manner; authorities recognized the geniuses of the case and assured full support for rapid processing (Issuance of seniority list, DPC and other formalities) of promotions of existing librarian and advertisement of vacant post of the librarians. As the matter of promotion and advertisement is directly relating to Establishment, the Addition Secretary (establishment) was so kind and generous; she extended her absolute support and keen interest to resolve all the pending matter as soon as possible. She assured that she will personally look in to the matter and will resolve all issue (if any) of promotion and DPC fortnightly. Establishment of smart libraries in Park by Govt. of Punjab, role of librarians in HEC(Punjab), HEC digital Library at HEC (Punjab), Monitoring and Evaluation of private sector colleges/universities libraries, trains needs and conduct of traing for librarians in Punjab were also discussed during the meeting. Secretary Higher Education is very positive and action oriented personality, he advised all concerned department to formulate action plan and follow-up policy.
