Once you’ve memorized or mastered the map to what you perceived to be a safe and secured place in the journey to a perceived Heaven and/or eternal life, it is profoundly revolting to consider the map and/or destination are both a sham and possibly a scam that has cost you most of the so called joys and freedoms of life and human expression. Therefore people and people groups embracing these religious and emotional patterns and postures are not eager to consider change and will fight to the death in defense of their positions, traditions and conditions in mind. It is much like a career criminal who has spent most of his/her life incarcerated and have learned to survive and navigate the mental torture and torment of their bondage. To them, the consideration of freedom is less appealing and becomes the greater threat. It is just that, to those suffering and submitting to centuries of bondage and subjugation to the tyranny of institutionalized religion. This is what put Jesus at odds with his religious traditions and staunch traditionalists. Learning the techniques of appeasing a presumed angry God or pleasing a difficult one, gives millions of well meaning and often paranoid people a false sense of security as they ponder the constant threat of doing or even thinking something that offends that God and triggers its wrath. This entrenched indoctrination has produced a global psychosis that proliferates the “wars and rumors of wars” to which Jesus referred and created a knee jerk paranoia that makes the culture a ticking time bomb for explosive violence and societal self sabotage. We must stay the course of helping to change this delusional thinking by encouraging people to transcend religious dogma and recover their lost spiritual selves and sanities. It can and will be done! Peace is possible!!!!
