One Direction songwriter Wayne Hector has been spilling the beans ‘bout the boy-band’s next album. His current collabs include Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, and ex-X Factor contestant Ella Henderson. But all anybody wants to ask my man Hector ‘bout is the next 1D album! “They’ve definitely gone for a more mature sound,” he revealed. “It’s still fun,” Hector added, “but there are some really cool vibes coming from it. “With this album, there’s definitely a shift,” he said. “I think it’ll be really good. Hopefully there will be some good surprises on it. “It’s coming out at Christmas,” he confessed, “so we’re almost finished on it.” Does this songwriter-for-the-stars ever feel embarrassed ‘bout writing for boy-bands? “There’s this horrid idea that it’s embarrassing to be in a boy-band,” he said, “because you often don’t write your own songs. And somehow that doesn’t make you credible.” But Hector was quick to point out: “Elvis never wrote his own stuff. But he was an incredible artist! Whitney Houston as well…there are so many! “I say that success is credible,” he said. “People love or hate boy-bands. But they’re a massive part of people’s childhood memories. And because of that, it’s just as relevant as anything else.”
