One of my new Navy friends asked me about the difference between Old school surface Navy and New school Aviation Navy, so I told him the story of when Lucas and Michael had to stop me and my first class from getting into a fist fight because Dave did not do a damn daily visual inspection by lunch time lol. Then I told them how ten years later I got talked to by the CMC and Maint Senior Chief about how me yelling at a junior sailor (who dropped a 100K piece of gear and did not say a word about it) was bringing down his attitude and morale and not a good sign of leadership. I had to bite my tongue the hole meeting thinking the hole time how many times I had to clear our work center so my junior guys would not hear one of their ship mates being vigorously disciplined next door.
