One of the greatest cancers on the earth is ~the love of money~! ~THis~ is for ~everyone~ who has ever, is now, or will suffer from any and all forms or cancer! Airathon OR Heirathon Loving My Future Ancestors Overtly In Nashville, TN I would like to open this with a quote from “The Cowardly Lion” in “The Wizard of Oz” “Unusual weather were havin’, aint it!” One morning, about two months ago, on C-Span’s Washington Journal, I heard the head of Green Peace make the following statement. And I quote; “If the world’s temperature rises another 3½ degrees, IT’S OVER!” And then he said that we are on track to reach that 3½ degree increase within I believe he said, the next 30 to 50 years < if > we continue using and burning fossil fuel like we have been for the last 40 or 50 years. But then he said that we still have time to stop it. < But > he said, there is ONLY ONE WAY to stop it. And the ONE AND ONLY ONE WAY TO STOP the earth’s temperature from rising another 3½ degrees is to reduce our oil use by 2/3’s. He said we have to leave 2/3’s of the oil that is still in the ground, in the ground. We cannot bring it up and we cannot burn it! Two weeks ago on Facebook I found an article that said exactly the same thing. It is entitled, “The survival of the human race depends on the fate of Keystone XL and fracking” by David Atkins from “The Daily KOS” that’s dailykos. If anyone is interested in reading the article, I brought a few copies with me. But here is the third paragraph from his article. “If all of the oil in the Canadian tar sands is extracted and burnt, its game over for the planet. Thats what the fight over Keystone XL is really about. If all of the oil in the California shale is extracted and burnt, its game over for the planet. Thats what the fight over fracking is really about. Industrial spills, toxic leeching, and groundwater pollution--none of it will matter. If tens of millions of Americans die early of cancer because of the toxins involved, that would still be a molehill compared to the mountain that is climate change.” Last week I found “Philip Greenspuns Weblog” at “blogs.law.harvard.edu” and according to him, “the entire U.S. fleet of passenger cars collectively burns 40 percent of the oil that we use”. Now I’m just guessing, but if you add in the amount of oil it takes to make all of the diesel and gas for ALL of our trucks and buses and motorhomes, this just might get us significantly closer to that 2/3’s, that 66% reduction we need to ensure a future for our Future Ancestors. So, it appears, if we didn’t have to refine oil into gas and diesel, the problem of global warning would be much, much closer to being solved. Or as inspector Clouseau would say, “sol-ved”. So, is there any way to power all of our cars and trucks and buses without using fossil fuels? The answer is a resounding, “Yes Virginia there is Santa Clause!” There is a way! There are two cars that are currently being built and sold, one here in the U.S. and the other overseas that < if > the drive-trains of these two automobiles were brought together, combined, merged, married, coupled, we would never again need any fossil fuel to power any of our everyday ordinary vehicles. So what are these cars? If you can believe what you hear, see and read on the internet and YouTube; MDI, Motor Development International located in Luxemburg and Tata Motors in India are, as we speak, manufacturing and selling compressed-air-powered-cars. These cars will do 70 mph and can go two or three hundred miles on a single charge of air. If you Google “Honda compressed air car” you will see one of the coolest looking dune buggy type cars you have ever seen. It looks like something out of Star Wars. It looks like something a Jedi Knight or a Storm Trooper would drive. It seats 4 and is powered 100% by compressed air. But, because these cars have to be very small and very, very light they will never be sold in America, because they will never pass our safety regulations. But like I said, we don’t need the actual cars here. All we need is their drivetrain to be merged with the drivetrain of the car that I said is being made and sold here in the U.S.A. And what, pray tell, is this car you ask? Why it’s the Chevy Volt, of course. The Chevy Volt is a gasoline powered electric car whose batteries will only take it 40 or 50 miles before they are dead. But after they are dead, the Volt is not. It keeps on going because it has an on-board-gasoline-powered-electric-generator. The Volt is powered the same way all of our locomotives that pull and push all of our trains have been powered for decades. All locomotives are diesel powered electric-trains. CSX Railroad has a radio and TV commercial where they claim they can move a load of freight almost 450 miles on one gallon of fuel. And in case you haven’t guessed by now. The way we get to zero use of fossil fuels for powering all of our everyday, ordinary cars, trucks, buses and motorhomes, is to simply replace the gasoline-powered-electric-generator of the Chevy Volt, with a compressed-air-powered-electric-generator. I am no engineer, but I am as certain as 2+2=4 and not 5, (See George Orwell’s “1984” for that reference.) that this would be fairly easy to do. And now to explain my Airathon OR Heirathon. Through a coincidental-natural-segue, Nashville and possibly the entire state of Tennessee, is being given the opportunity and maybe even the moral duty, to get involved with helping lead the world into the more sustainable future we must have; via the manufacturing of compressed-air-powered-electric-vehicles. What is this coincidental-natural-segue I’m taking about? It is simply this. It is the name of a car that began its life in Jackson, TN and wound up being manufactured here in Nashville, between 1914 and 1918. And the name of this car is the Marathon. To me the name Marathon is crying out to be changed to Airathon, spelled either as Air-athon, or the more poignant and spelling-binding spelling of Heir-athon. What I am proposing is that Metro Nashville and maybe the entire state of Tennessee seriously think about starting a new car company to manufacture compressed-air-powered-electric-vehicles. If we at least tried to do this, the world would thank us many times over. Also the Marathon Motor Works building is still standing at 1305 Clinton Street and is now Marathon Village. And now I will end with this: Several years ago either right before or right after 9/11, on either LinkTV or Free Speech TV, I happened to catch part of a documentary, where the entire documentary consisted of the man who was making the documentary simply traveling around the world and interviewing some of the world’s best and brightest minds. People like Nobel Laurites, Pulitzer Prize winners, famous authors, college professors, PhD’s, theologians, spiritual leaders, activists, politicians and such. And he began every interview with the same question. “What is the answer? What do we do? What do we have to do to ensure the survival of the human race on this planet?” I can’t remember any of the answers, except for that of the 77 year old, internationally known, Canadian born, Japanese, award-winning scientist, environmentalist, peace activist and broadcaster named David Suzuki. And he simply said something to this effect; ~“The answer is very simple. The ONLY thing that is going to spare the world from the environmental holocaust we are descending into and save the human race from going extinct is LOVE. LOVE IS THE ONLY THING that will do it. NOTHING ELSE WILL WORK!”~ All he is saying is, ~“Love is the answer.”~ To quote Jimi Hendrix: ~”When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”~ All he is saying is, ~“Love is the answer.”~ If you look up the David Atkins online article I quoted from at the beginning of this, you will find a cartoon of a man sitting on the floor of a cave wearing a tattered and torn business suit and talking to three children around a small camp fire, with the following caption: “Yes, the planet got destroyed. But for a beautiful moment in time we created a lot of value for shareholders.” Is all of this true? Is the status-quo descending us into an environmental abyss of unstoppable, apocalyptic proportions? The only way to find out for sure is to NOT pursue the philosophy of “Better safe than sorry.” All we are saying is give “Better safe than sorry.” a chance. Give it a fighting chance.
