One of the most interesting books Ive read in a while. Its a book about how to create a better future with the future defined as a state thats an order of magnitude more advanced than today. (I.e. if the world was only marginally better or not at all better tomorrow then tomorrow is not the future) This quote sums up what makes the book and peter thiel interesting: if you can identify a delusional popular belief, you can find what lies hidden behind it: the contrarian truth In it he explains why competition is bad for business and a monopoly is what one should aim to create (a monopoly from a technological advantage is actually good for the world), in doing so, he warns about the risk of defining a market too narrow and you end up being a monopoly by default and still fail. It also talks about the optimistic but indefinite attitude the current american generation has about the future. Optimism without a definite plan to make things better can not lead to a better future. So thiel described what and how to make the world better through discovering new technology and making definitely plans to make an order of magnitude improvement to the world. Its a short read, you can finish it in one sitting, I highly recommend it!
