One thing peopl just dont get.... If you want to make an extraordinary claim like GMOs are harmful to humans, then you have to provide extraordinary proof. How do you do that? First have a competency of some type in the field you are making claims against. If you havent done any reading o get how it works, you are just spewing hot air. Do a lot of reading from different authors if you have to, speak to people in the field, watch some education videos. But dont just see a picture on FB, and then post it making wild conclusions. Second, clearly state what the precise issue is. Third, have supporting evidence that clearly relates to, and backs your point, and rules out alternative explanations for your contention. Fourth, open all the info up, and then let everyone have at it. Its a high bar to meet, but if you CAN meet it, then sceptics will not be able to tear it down and you have a point intelligent people can rally around. Trying to debate with GMO conspiracy theorists, and they simply dont get it. None of us are experts, yet they are the ones certain of their claims, and either use shoddy proof, or simply ask loaded question after question instead of trying to bolster their case solidly. Its worth it to fight against bad science. I sadly am seeing MORE garbage coming across FB then less, and every time I try to say something about it, all I get met with is resentment by those who decided to make it open for comment lol :P We live in a world with and always using the tools of science, and absolutely no understanding of science as Carl Sagan once said. This is a recipe for disaster. I used to be a conspiracy theorist myself, and I cannot tell you HOW liberating it is to be free of that mindset.
