One, who dreamt like Galileo—‘beyond this our unfathomable - TopicsExpress

One, who dreamt like Galileo—‘beyond this our unfathomable Cosmos’; one who solved mathematical problem with a flourish of a wand-- like a great magician; a prodigy who was truly a master of physics, and who could challenge Einstein, was only scared of one subject. And the subject was—‘the Technical drawing’. I am pretty sure that the Celebrated Newton and Wizard Maxwell could also have flunked in this weird subject, where one has to imagine for nothing. To solve this dilemma, our friend has a ready mantra, “Damn it with these 3-D nonsenses! I’ll invent a machine without smelling the wooden scent of any drawing board ever!” You got it right. He is our Rat. In bold, he is our Ratnesh. This Rat entered our heart as silently as a Rat slithers or scamper (I don’t know) inside our sweet home. A Rat, who was a born genius, I have ever come across, is our dearest friend since our days in St. Xavier College. One fine morning, BIT Mesra found him on its soil, since a few months back, on the day of IIT JEE examination, the dry-mouthed kid collapsed after a mild sunstroke. Sadly, that kid could not appear the paper of mathematics, and was like an inconsolable baby; crying entire night. No doubt, it was a life altering setback for him, but the event had a silver screen, Picture abhi baki hai dost. Then, it was a gain for all of us. Lucky was the BIT Mesra, which found a walking genius on its terra firma. A Rat, who was also a great hunters of Cat, once went to the Railway platform of a Ranchi Hill station. Like a true Rat, he smelt something, and in the blink of an eye, he boarded the train, and never bothered to buy a thoroughfare legit ticket. God must be thanked for his kindness. That day, apart from his black trouser, blue shirt, shining burnished leather shoe, he was also wearing his under-pant and was proud owner of his Lal Rumal (the red handkerchief). Singing and dancing with his pals (Some must be surely cronies), he did not know when Nai Dilli (New Delhi) Railway station arrived. The Cat jumped off from the wagon and quickly vanished into the dark labyrinth of Chandni Chowk. Rat chased Cat, but got bored after a while. So, he decided to turn back and pay a well-deserved visit to his mausi (the aunt). Somehow, the Rat was persuaded by elders to take his journey back and look for other Cats. The journey began once again. The proud Rat returned to the campus since other Cats were to be ambushed. We can go on narrating thousands of his stories and his hobbies. One story I penned herein, in full conscious state of my find, is dedicated for us, the BITans. Before I tend to sway, at least a hobby should find place in this writing. Then, the Rat was a voracious reader. His interest was from ‘Freedom at Midnight’ to ‘The Godfather’. He enjoyed ‘Second Lady’ with the same aplomb as the darkest secret books, which were kept under many folds of bed sheets and mattress. Those were the great treasure, which no one could every find today in our ‘National Archive’. If you want to do some research on those subject matters, you may pay a grand visit to Outer or inner hostel. Dig deep, and you will definitley find one. Relax and and get yourself Immersed in those great work. Even Da Vinci Code will look lesser than that. Lot of Mary Magdalens. Then, why should I ask you to guess what those great artworks were, when you already know about it. And, we all the benign immortals, used to chase our Rat, for having a glimpse of those great writing and see with our eyes opened--the artwork of avid photographers. I’m definitely not talking about the greatest photographer, ever born on this planet,—the two twins, known by the name--Tyagis, who also walked naked on this planet and in of our campus. Some other day, we’ll talk about them. Tonight let’s salute one and ono one—the Rat… Those were such happy time. And, you the Rat, our dearest buddy Ratnesh, made all of us proud. We are proud for everything you did for us. We all have been privileged to have a friend like you. Signing off after a late night writing, Ajay. P.S. ---By the way, why don’t you click on his name Ratnesh Kumar and enquire about a detailed story, which we phrased, “A great chase of a Cat by our Rat.” Will edit afterward. Let me sleep. Its going to be now 03:00A.M.
