#Opinion #LandOfOpportunities CALL FOR UNITY IN EMBU COUNTY by: John Kitheka Mumo ************************************************************************* There is need to focus on the unification Agenda of Embu Cosmopolitan Communities, and refrain from incitement of our already emotional electorate. The politicians need to be warned that the repercussions of these emotions can only backfire on them ,since they have kept the history of arrogance in the chambers and the Media has displayed this gospel to the masses. I do not want to behave like an alien, I know my people thoroughly well, and therefore, as a native of Embu, and a Leader , I feel it is time to ask that we all return to the basics of our Christian faith. We are all created in the image of God and His Likeness Gen 1:26-28 and all have an equal opportunity to inherit the land of great opportunities -Embu. As the people who have a well defined heritage of natural and physical resources, people who poses high profile of educational professionlism and people who live at the foot of the sacred mountain, we must embrace our uniqueness and pledge to move forward as one people. There are hidden potentials in the children God has blessed us with , and therefore we cannot dare expose them to death and violence, that we now want to stage on ethnic divides. I warn that there is going to be a more worse calamity on this land, if we shall consciously continue to engage the minds of these beloved children with tribalism,clanism,hate speech and insults. Let us refrain from these vices and we shall save our future. I know , I am calling for trouble when I say that, the political class in Embu is diving the house, and it is creating for us a history which shall be read throughout generations. I stand to be counted as a bridge builder to the youth and children of this land. If I would be elected as a politician, I would hate these divides and would lead a revolt against any leader, despite of his wealth, education,belief,or power status if I shall learn that he or she is a devil threatening to sacrifice our children through politics based on ethnic divides.
