Orientation to Training and Practice in Canada "OTPC created a comfortable atmosphere where we could practice and the simulated patients were so helpful. The practice sessions at CEHPEA helped me to further refine skills I had garnered through my life experience and in medical school. There was lots of helpful information. It is so relevant to know and understand the Canadian system as there are many differences among countries and provinces." Dr. Ahmed Jehaan Illyas Candidate The Orientation to Training and Practice in Canada (OTPC) program is for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) who are accepted into a specialty residency training program in the province of Ontario. The program is focused on providing curriculum, orientation, supports, and services to candidates to prepare them for a successful transition into residency. It is three weeks in duration and consists of a blend of classroom and online learning which will take place at CEHPEA and must be completed prior to the commencement of the residency program. The program was developed in consultation with Program Directors, in response to defined needs, and focuses on key competency areas of importance for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and Canadians Educated Abroad (CEAs) during their specialty residencies. The program is continually evaluated and modified in collaboration with Program Directors and Academic Consultants. FAQ about OTPC
