Our 167th Word: While Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago, a former RTC Judge, has stated that the Senate Sub-Committee (SSC) investigating the alleged over-pricing of the Makati City Hall building, has gathered enough evidence against VP Jojo Binay, to charge him with graft, before the Ombudsman, the members of the committee, namely, Sens. Alan Peter Cayetano, Antonio Trillanes and Koko PImentel, said that they have insufficient evidence against the Vice-President, such that, they are requesting for a period of six (6) months or up to May 2015, to finish their investigation. By that time, the SSC, shall have spent one (1) year investigating VP Binay. Meanwhile, important the issues affecting our people, like, the loss of foreign cash donations for Yolanda victims, the termination of the VFA on account of the killing of a transgender woman, by a US Marines, the construction of boundary markers by China in our territorial waters, the failure of the government to address the worsening poverty in the country, resulting to 15 million hungry Filipino children and the deteriorating peace and order situation in the entire country, exacerbated by riding in tandem assassins, have gone unnoticed or simply ignored by the said senators, their focus being on the total annihilation of VP Binay, the front runner in the 2016 presidential elections.
