Our beloved The Strawberry Music Festival has been forced to move from its Yosemite, Camp Mather home of more than 30 years due the refusal of San Francisco’s Recreation and Parks Department (SFR&PD) to issue a permit for the 2014 Fall Festival following last years cancellation due to the fires. We are sad beyond measure that despite an outpouring of public support, 30 years of successful site management and the Festivals assurance that they could deal with nearby forest closures and limited potable water situation -the SFR&PD has been so unaccountably intractable and short sighted in its decision to refuse the permit. However were thrilled that the festival will live on in its new Grass Valley, California home in the Nevada County Fairgrounds! We will be up in Canada while the festival is taking place this year--but we hope all our California friends will go and enjoy it for us xo BOC May 15, 2014 We are happy to announce that this year’s Strawberry Fall Music Festival will take place at… Nevada County Fairgrounds In Grass Valley On September 11th-15th Please note the change in date. The festival is NOT taking place over Labor Day weekend, but will be held two weeks later, instead. We are very grateful to the kind staff at the Nevada County Fairgrounds for providing a beautiful sanctuary for our community to celebrate friends, family, laughter, and music! Fairground information can be found at NevadaCountyFair. Please be aware that our contract for the Fall 2014 Festival still needs to be reviewed by the Small Business Administration. As soon as we receive approval and the disaster relief funding is dispersed, we will send letters to Fall 2013 cabin and ticket holders explaining the refund process. Tickets for the Fall 2014 Festival will go on sale after refunds have begun.
