Our day will start out with a mix of sun & clouds and the occasional passing shower from the Gulf of Mexico. The clouds will be on the increase heading into the afternoon along with a growing chance of spotty showers. A line of showers & thunderstorms along the Florida Panhandle and the Big Bend region is forecast to drop south through the peninsula. As this rain falls south it is expected to weaken over land. We will see passing showers and even some embedded thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening. A very similar scenario plays out for Thursday, but it looks like the rain will be stronger through the morning and afternoon hours. Our rain chances taper off for Friday and Saturday as cooler and drier air moves into the Southeast US. We will still have some isolated showers, but our chances of thunderstorms and downpours looks significantly lower. The potential for rain starts to climb on Sunday and continues into the upcoming work week.
