Our father of the land Qaid Azam MAJ, knew our education system is - TopicsExpress

Our father of the land Qaid Azam MAJ, knew our education system is crap so he chose to go to London. The Dreamer of Pakistan, Hazrat Allama Iqbal knew our education system is crap so he chose to go to Germany. Sir Shahnawaz knew that our education system is crap so he went to UK, he knew that our education system is crap so he sent his son ZA Bhutto to UK, who knew that our education system is crap so he sent his daughter Benazir to UK who knew that our education system is crap so she sent Billawal to UK. Our Mulana Madudi knew that our education is crap so he sent his children to the US. Even our politician Qazi Sb knew that our education is crap so he sent his children to the US, Even our present vibrant leader Imran knows that our education is crap so he chose Oxford over Lahore. What made and is still making our leaders reluctant to change our education system in Pakistan? What make them impotent and incapable to revamp our education system? And I don’t blame the public. Poor people still sell their goat, cow and land to educate their youth. Their parents will go to any length of corruption and money making to send their kids abroad. And the youth is still learning by rote and memorizing everything they are taught to become, an unlikely doctors and engineers. Hypocrisy, incapability, and dishonesty go so deep in our blood that we all need to take responsibility for our past and present actions and do things where there is no noise and shouting but results. Through this post I suggest the present government of Pakistan especially Imran khan’s government in the KPK do the following steps NOW: 1.Revamp federal educational commission. 2.Establish provincial education commissions. Allow a place for local languages and traditions in the courses to promote student and public interest in education. 3.Separate the functions of teaching, testing and hiring in the education system. 4.Solve teachers’ problems and help them help the system. 5.Create, re-establish and unite autonomous educational bodies and give them powers to govern and establish standards in their field of expertise. Examples include, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, Pakistan Engineering Counsel, Pakistan Medical Association, Pakistan Nursing Counsel. Establish as many as possible it won’t hurt. Give them tasks to help revamp education system at the grass root level to the top. 6.Avoid conflicts on minor things for broader national interests. So forget if an essay in class 8th is or is not biased. We as a nation will come to that later. 7.Standardize madrasas and take steps to convert them into full fledge educational institutions. And yes involve those Molvees and Alameen who most think don’t know science and technology. 8.Ask all Pakistanis, inside Pakistan and abroad to help in all ways possible. Pakistanis, who are abroad, will volunteer and won’t be a burden on your budget. 9.Seek cooperation from your ambassadors abroad 10.Use technology for testing and evaluation as much as possible. 11.Review basic science and technology books and throw out Pakistani authors books on the subjects of science, technology and mathematics that are below standards. 12.Create and help private-public partnership in education. Accept and grant licences to all private institutions that have been around for a while and who can, with a reasonable assurance provide quality education.
