Our last day in Armidale we spent doing a leisurely 2 1/2 hour - TopicsExpress

Our last day in Armidale we spent doing a leisurely 2 1/2 hour guided heritage tour in a bus. This was complimentary, with donations welcome and is put on by the Information Bureau of Armidale. We thoroughly enjoyed it especially the commentary given by our tour guide. I have never seen such beautiful historic buildings and after the tour we went to some of them by ourselves as you dont really have time to take in everything. There are two cathedrals and numerous churchs and the University of New England is just magnificent and has a heritage listed homestead Booloominbah in the uni grounds. The house was completed in 1888, Australias centenary year and was owned by The White family. Unfortunately it was not open when we were there as they had some performance going on. We are now in Tamworth at a lovely caravan park with a large river running at the bottom of the park but as yet I havent done any exploring around the Park, there is a great swimming pool Jean Wright here so maybe I maybe a visitor there as the temperature was 29 degrees. How strange is this, we were talking to our next door neighbor here this afternoon and as you do the subject got on to caravans that get written off and would you believe it but they wrote theirs off several months ago and also have a brand new van. Tomorrow we will go looking at all the places around here.
