Our local Harrier came over Dogs Plot home, chicken house, and - TopicsExpress

Our local Harrier came over Dogs Plot home, chicken house, and orchard this morning, extra low. But they have never picked off any of my chickens, as far as I know ,,, being mostly after smaller prey. So maybe they wont bother the two hen pheasants I saw out there yesterday. The state does not stock hens, so their presence indicates that they are having some success in breeding and surviving, which has not been the case for years. The current posting of the better defined public hunting area, gives them some shelter from hunting, and that being where there are fewer coyotes. Cars get as many pheasants as anybody, but the native born birds are more likely to know the difference between a road and a river.
