Our nation just re-normalized diplomatic relations with the Republic of Cuba to the south at the same time we are still reeling from a wave of protests against police violence in our country. Im sure youve all seen the video of white American thug cops killing unarmed black people before allowing them any of the due process our wonderful liberal democracy affords its citizens. Im sure youve also heard all your life that all communists states are brutal police state dictatorships, too. How about we compare and contrast? This is a video of a confrontation between a black man and a white cop...except its taken on the streets of Habana, Cuba instead here in America: https://youtube/watch?v=3S50rfJndfE Watch it and see how different the police are in Cuba, a communist country you were all told is evil and oppressive, compared to the way police work here in America, a capitalist nation you still believe is wonderful and free. See how the cop didnt kill the accused? See how the people in the street actually assisted the officer instead of running in fear that they might be killed next? See how the officer at the end politely asks for identification of person capturing the video and explains that its for investigation purposes instead of just demanding to see some ID like they do in countries that oppress their citizens? See how the guy was actually going on an anti-government rant against the Castros and yet he wasnt executed on sight the way this country does just for selling loose cigarettes? Tell me again that all communist states are brutal dictatorships and liberal capitalist countries are peaceful. Tell me again that socialism leads to a violent police state and that liberal democracy has not. Tell me again how attempting communism destroys freedom hanging on to liberalism somehow guarantees it. I will laugh in your face. Viva la revolucion!
