PARDON AS TOOL AGAINST TERRORISM by ENA OFUGARA The good have - TopicsExpress

PARDON AS TOOL AGAINST TERRORISM by ENA OFUGARA The good have no need for pardon. Only the bad. If pardons have existed over time, then there must be an absolute need for the strategic bad to be pardoned in every society. There is a reason Kings and politicians are criticised and hated and it is encapsulated in the pidgin phrase who no go no know, meaning, from where you stand or are seated, you can never make sense of certain government decisions. When El Rufai and Ribadu were, for all purpose and intents pardoned (yes this government stopped the prosecution of both of these accused suspects and criminals and fugitives who ran from the benign YarAdua in a democracy that guarantees freedom and Senate has declared El Rufai unfit for any public office for his monumental corruption as FCT minister), it was a move that GEJ used in garnering the support of the Northern Elders Forum and the Emirs all of whom live and die for the betterment of their elites. One would ask why would GEJ agree to such a bargain with the North for the stoppage of prosecution of these Fulanis? The answer would be complicated. But I will use the veritable pidgin nugget who no go no know. The first rule of any organism, organization or whatever is survival. Most of the things you will do will be dictated by the need for survival. In fact science and psychology has even named it as an INSTINCT, a thing not thought about before doing...an automated and automatic action. Ribadu and El Rufais non prosecution was clearly used by GEJ to survive the onslaught that wanted him....a mere minority out of power. Of course GEJ masterfully succeeded and defeated the then pro-YarAdua MAFIA that wanted him out. Who no go no know BUT THE TYPE OF PARDON I AM TALKING ABOUT The Aladesanmis of Sahara Reporters who may never have been class monitors may never understand the workings of governments. People like him have continued to criticise the pardon of Alamieyeseigha who as at today is the most useful man in Nigeria. From the Nigerian armys failure to rein in Boko Haram who are on the ground, how will they have fared against the militants in the creeks? Militants who could easily have destroyed all the oil wells and tank farms and NNPC and Shell and Mobil and Chevron installations? If they cannot fight against those who use gas cylinders to blow up spots, how will they have fought the better oiled militants who have way superior arms as shown in what they submitted during amnesty? By now Nigeria would be one of the poorest nations in the world as our source of daily bread will have been destroyed and all the whitemen and expatriates would have run away or be wearing bombproof vests like they wear their pants. But today, by YarAduas pardon (amnesty) and GEJs continuation of that policy and as led in truth by Alamieyeseigha who reined in the Tom Ateke and Asari Dokubohs, Nigeria is a functioning society and according to World Bank, the only truly buoyant economy in sub-Saharan Africa....because of the pardon of one man ALAMIEYESEIGHA. But policy and strategy neophytes go on criticising the most strategic decision by any president ever in Nigeria...pardoning the man who has ensured that oil exploration goes on with the littlest disturbances possible. Just ask any of the silly critics when last a white man or expatriate was killed in the creeks or when last a tank farm exploded. Ask them why Canada is confident enough to come to Warri Nigeria to invest 5 billion dollars and GE in Cross Rivers investing 4 billion dollars. But they can never understand because who no go no fit know. Like football fans, they can sit in front of TV and say The coach no sabi. Why he go put Azpi for number 3 when na right leg he dey use. ON THE ABACHAS PARDON We are at war in the North and sadly Sanusi and Shettima and Nyako and Kwankwaso are seriously being alleged to be sponsors....SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS. El Rufai has told everyone that 1. Anyone who kills a Fulani (terrorist or not,) he and his family will be killed. (not exact words but same implication) He has also tweeted that it is better for a thousand to die than for the wrong man/infidel to lead... which is a direct call for more suicide bombers...at least in any reasonable analysis. Sudan is shielding Ogwuche the alleged Abuja bomber who many allege is in cahoots with Sanusi being from same Alma Mater as Sanusi. Anyone who discountenances the allegation of the beheading of an Ibo man by Sanusi and also the fact that Mutallab, the Christmas day bomber is like a nephew to Sanusi as well as the donation of Billions to Islamic causes many of whom are said to be cover to secret funneling of funds to terrorist must be the most trusting human being on the planet. The least any reasonable person will do is to ask why always Sanusi? Why would Abacha imprison this man and why would he Sanusi continue to write and insult Abacha and Abachas poor upbringing (Sanusi called him a shoemakers son) It is same Abacha who never allowed Boko Haram nor Sharia flourish in Nigeria. SHARIA AND BOKO HARAM HAD TO WAIT FOR OBASANJO FOR I TO TAKE ROOT. When Yaradua tried to uproot what Obasanjo had let grow by allegedly having Yusuf, the Boko Haram leader extra-judicially killed, it was too late. Obasanjo had done the damage. Now GEJ is reaping the fruits planted in Obasanjos time. The problem with uprooting Boko Haram has always been the Northern elite support for it. Every military onslaught is met with criticism by Sanusi, Buhari, Northern Elders forum etc. The talakewas and Almajiris and everyday Northerners are told that onslaughts against Boko Haram are attacks against them. The Babangidas and Atikus are criminally silent. So who will rise and stand up to these people? who from amongst them can tell the talakewas and Almajiris that Boko Haram is evil and the onslaught necessary to bring the North to a good place where it can develop? The Abachas are Kanos own. They are hugely massively humongously popular in the North. Northerners have grown up seeing the Abachas as Lord and Masters having been in AND AROUND power since 1984. Al Mustapha, the Abacha right hand, he is that imprisoned Sanusi and many of the Muslim extremists who killed the innocent Ibo man. The welcome party and crowd that greeted Al Mustaphas release from prison is enough proof that such a one is highly needed for Northern re-orientation. The Abachas have had their loot seized and returned to Nigerian coffers but truth is, no jail term can return ALL the moneys to Nigeria. Like Obasanjo and Babangida, their father is said to have stolen and the children used as conduit. But truth remains that had Abacha not fortuitously died, he would be walking free like Obasanjo and Babangida. However important it is to punish offenders, WE ARE FACED WITH A BIGGER DANGER...TERRORISM. The critics will not tell you as they may not know that DURING WARS, CRIMINALS ARE RELEASED AND GIVEN ARMS AND RANKS SO AS TO JOIN THE BATTLE ON THE SIDE OF GOVERNMENT OR COUNTRY. Adaka Boros example is the clearest where a known Treasonable Felon was commissioned into the army, given his own battalion and made to fight Ojukwu and BIAFRA...to very great success. So why are critics against the enlisting of the Abachas and Al Mustapha for the important battle against Boko Haram? ARE WE NOT DESPERATE ENOUGH YET? THE GLOBAL ANTI-TERRORISM DEALS. America just released five known terrorists ostensibly to liberate an American prisoner of war. BUT NA LIE. Truth is that America is in talks with the Taliban over peace deals. The release of the soldier and the five terrorists is seen by many as a gesture of goodwill and intent. America who just raided Banghazi and caught a terrorist could have orchestrated that soldiers release with a strategic strike. Instead it is doing strategic deals. Do you know how many most wanted terrorists find their way into America and living lavish and peaceful? Very many I tell you. American government created the word deal. LEADERSHIP WILL ALWAYS BE ABOUT SUCH DEALS and the public will always be angry about them. Americans are livid with Obama for the trade. But it is not everything that Obama will tell them. The mantra you do not negotiate with terrorists will always bend to practical matters of leadership. YOU ARE NOT SO DIFFERENT IN YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE As a student in the University, did you ever buy a cult boy beer or paid his transport on a bus or cultivated his or her friendship so that neither he (or her) or any of his friends harm you? Have you used him to get back something seized by his fellow cultist or rival group? If not even a student, have you been loyal to the Ejeles and Ayiris and Bob Izuas so your life and trade be peaceful? That is exactly what the government does when it uses the Alamieyeseigha and now what it will use Al Mustapha and the Abachas for in Kano and other parts of the volatile North. CLUELESS? Again remember that Kano is the most populous state in Nigeria and with the Abachas, Al Mustapha, Shekarau and now Bayeros on GEJs side, Kano state votes are seriously up for grabs. So in one fell use of the agelong PARDON, GEJ has people to lead his charge against terrorists, and of course the APC (if at all they are different) WHO NO GO, NO KNOW.
