PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULDNT THROW STONES. Well it - TopicsExpress

PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULDNT THROW STONES. Well it serves me jolly well right for making fun of Susie( other one here) who is suffering with her bad smells! It has just hit me in the past few days with a vengeance. Everybody and everything smells of sweet moth balls. Now I have never eaten moth balls sweet or sour and I do not even know where I get the name sweet mothballs from, but it is a sickly yucky smell that is so strong that not only am I smelling it I am tasting it as well with absolutely nothing masking the taste. My husband smells of it, my son and my Shitzhu all have this disgusting sickly smell! Breakfast, lunch and dinner are now consisting of a bowl of Bran Flakes with some fruit thrown in. Bran flakes normally taste of cardboard-but now they taste of moth balls. I love my food, I love cooking and I love trying out new recipes. I am still thinking about food, reading cookery books with mouth watering recipes salted chilli squid, slow roasted shoulder of lamb in red wine jus- aah bliss, but whats the point, lamb and squid moth balls dont do it for me! So now 9 weeks into chemo and 9 weeks to go ( yes halfway tomorrow!) I have a bowling ball as a head, I have eyelashes that are still about hanging in there but feel like pine needles to touch, mouth ulcers, nose running like a river and sweet moth ballsand thats only the minor side effects. Its all great fun! Oh and not forgetting the chemo brain - now that is something else and is going from bad to worse. Focusing on anything now is a complete disaster- from watching TV to reading to daily living is a no no. Walking and chewing gum simultaneously- forget that! I have notebooks to write things down but now I have accumulated 4 of them they are all floating around in 4 different places. Why- I havent a clue and I rarely check them anyway! I decided last week that I needed to get back into reading again as I always had a novel on the go. So I bought 6 books and decided to immerse myself into the books and transport myself to a different world. Yes, they are all really good novels but when you are reading them all at the same time it can get a tad confusing!!! I know all this will pass once the chemo ends and I will laugh about it but at the moment its annoying and starting to irritate me. So I will take myself off to the 9 th chemo tomorrow, which I hope will be an 8.5 hour one like last week and not a 12 hour one. I could have another hissy fit with the oncologist but dont think she will fall for that again!! At least I am going with my new heated faux fur over blanket! So I am all prepared with all my paraphernalia, but I now need to decide on which novel of my new 6 novels to take. That could take me a while to organise! Oh the joys of chemo!! ALWAYS LAUGH WHEN YOU CAN, IT IS CHEAP MEDICINE. MERRIMENT-IT IS THE SUNNY SIDE OF EXISTENCE
