PHEW! A busy week. It takes a whole lot of dedicated volunteers to pull off both a 40 dog rescue, PLUS an adoption event the next day. Our dog rescue transport was scheduled to arrive at 11pm on Friday night which we thought was asking a lot of our dedicated volunteers. But the drivers made a few navigational errors, and they finally arrived at 4:30 this morning (Saturday). Dogs had been in their crates, stuffed in a van for over 20 hours. Poop, vomit, dehydration, dogs shutting down, fleas, ticks, smelly dogs that have been in the shelter too long, etc. Baths, food, water, tick checks, nail trimming, collar fitting, crate cleaning, medical check, medicine for each dog, coordinating 40 dogs to the correct fosters, temperatures in the teens... We started wrapping up the rescue event at 6:00am, and I had to take two foster dogs to the spay and neuter clinic at 8:00am. Then back home and to a friends house to pick up foster dogs to get them to a bi-weekly adoption event from noon to 4pm. Volunteering at a crazy, noisy event and trying to answer questions about our amazing dogs (over 10 dogs adopted!) Back to the S&N clinic by 5pm, and then deliver non-adopted dogs back to fosters. Stop at a friends house to show her one of the dogs we rescued this morning (she has been heart-broken from recently losing her dog, and may adopt one of our sweetheart dogs.) Back home. Get my 2 foster dogs that had been spayed and neutered today comfy, fed and walked. Eat something for the second time in 24 hours. Needless to say, I was a WEEEEE bit tired by 6:00 tonight. Sorry James Baucham for missing your 40th. Ill make it up to you! THANK YOU Pup Tub for giving us a place to work from and supporting us while we waited through the night! THANK YOU PetCo in Draper for allowing us to have our bi-weekly adoptions at your facility. THANK YOU Station 13 Texas Donuts for donating 20 dozen donuts to our adoption event. THANK YOU Bodacious Bath for hosting our photo shoots and fundraising for us. AND the least and last, thank you Goddess Caffeine for helping me through the night and today! PLEASE support these AMAZING local businesses! Im going to bed.
