PKP launched his leadership for the PQ this afternoon. In case you missed his lengthy and uneven speech, here are the highlights presented in checklist form. - Attack the current government in Quebec and Canada. Check. - Mention the last election loss, but dont acknowledge that youre the main reason for it. Check - Say the words pour faire du Quebec un pays and pump your fist when you say it.(that worked pretty well the first time you thought of if during the last election.) Check. - Make the standard reference to how important the environment is to you but dont offer any specifics. Check. - Call Phillipe Couillard (whos been in power for all of 6 months) the worst premier in Quebecs history. Check. -Do the pour faire du Quebec un pays thing again, and pump your fist again while you raise your voice for emphasis, and to break the monotony.. Check - Talk about reaching out to young people for their support, (even though most of them have no idea who you are, and those who do, consider you the man, and not in a good way.) Check. - Say that ...pays thing again, but this time yell it as you do it Check. - Since hes there anyway, acknowledge Bernard Landry, (even though most everyone regards him as irrelevant and played out.) Check. -Dont acknowledge any other party members running for the leadership. (Theyre not worthy of your attention.) Check. - Last mention of the pays thing, bring your family onstage, and hope no one noticed that your speech contained no specifics on anything.
