PLEASE PRAY FOR MY MOTHER, LOIS ARMSTRONG (LITTLE HOPE LEFT), AND - TopicsExpress

PLEASE PRAY FOR MY MOTHER, LOIS ARMSTRONG (LITTLE HOPE LEFT), AND OUR WHOLE FAMILY I requested urgent prayer a few weeks ago, and those (heart) procedures were successful, as far as they went. She is in a rehab center now. Yesterday we thought some encouraging things were happening, as she was beginning physical therapy, and there seemed to be relative hope, but she refused to do therapy today and we received a very bad prognosis, with lung and now brain cancer proceeding rapidly. It looks now like we either need a profound miracle of healing (which is always possible in Gods providence, if it be His will), or that she needs to simply be made as comfortable as possible in preparation for entering the next world. We all die eventually. The cancer is now rapidly starting to affect her mind, whereas three weeks ago; even more recently, she was perfectly lucid. Her personality and spunk were still there yesterday, despite all. Shes 89 years old and has had a pretty good and long life, all things considered. Shes dearly loved by her two surviving children and their spouses, and grandchildren and other relatives (mostly nieces and nephews at this point). Shes been living on her own, with just a little assistance with shopping and some housework, up till the last month. This has all happened very quickly and shockingly. Shell be liberated soon (so it appears, and I sure hope), and thats definitely a good thing. Its the destiny of all of us who will be saved in the end. We were ultimately made for the next world and that is where we find our perfect fulfillment, joy, and happiness. Thats what you hold on to as the light at the end of the tunnel (Ive experienced much of this before with cancer, with my brother and father). You try to think of the person not having to suffer any more. Thats about all you can do near the end. But you cant escape the suffering of losing a loved one. It tears your heart apart. We need your prayers now to get through what will be a VERY difficult Christmas season indeed. Today is my wifes birthday, adding pathos to the sad, painful situation. But all things have a purpose in Gods Providence, and He loves us all with an infinite love. I firmly believe that, even if I cant fully understand some particulars of situations. These things dont affect my faith. Suffering is part and parcel of this life, and the Christian life, and it should never surprise us or shatter our faith. Please pray (unless a miracle occurs) for my mothers comfort, spiritual and physical transition to the next world (she is a Methodist, not a Catholic, by the way), and for our strength and wisdom in how to proceed in what lies ahead. If I ever needed your prayers and Gods grace, its now (and I rarely make public prayer requests for myself). My whole family and all her loved ones will greatly need your prayers and support, and Im sure glad it is out there. It helped us so much during the last immediate crisis. I know that you, my friends, will be there for me, and us. Well get through this, terrible as it will likely be, and in time life will eventually return to some kind of normal. But we have some very difficult days ahead. Thank you so much, beforehand, for your prayers and thoughts and friendship.
