PLEASE READ: The Murrieta Fire Department has been made aware that multiple businesses within the city have been approached by a company offering fire inspection services and charging for these services. Additionally, there are reports these people have repaired or improperly installed equipment at a cost to the business owner. This activity has occurred in other cities both locally and nationally and could be deemed a misrepresentation of the local fire agency. The Murrieta Fire Department is the agency responsible for inspecting businesses within the city for fire code compliance. This service is done by firefighters or a fire department representative who have city identification and authority to perform this service. Some reports that have previously been documented are of people wearing a blue or black t-shirt with the name “Fire Equipment Co.” If someone suggests they have been sent by the fire department to inspect your property, we ask you contact the Murrieta Fire Department @ (951) 304- 3473.
