PLEASE READ: We are creating a Growers Alliance. What this looks like is: future Permablitzes, an event where volunteers come together to create an edible garden where someone lives, are organized with the intent of creating a micro-grower. A micro-grower would be someone with way more produce than their family can eat, and plenty of excess that can be provided to the community. The garden would not be large enough to overwhelm an individual or family with maintenance or upkeep. Once the garden is producing at the level of excess, it is sold at the farmers market. Now, this is where the alliance comes in: The growers work together to sell the produce. Our organization would be at a market once a week, and each grower would need to volunteer only one market day every other month to run a table at the market, and for a Permablitz about once a month, if available. As an alliance we can pool our resources to increase our buying power with lower prices for fertilizers, pest control and plant/tree purchases. The compensation we can discuss in more detail later, but I see three possible options: 1. Either the gardener selling for that event keeps the profit, 2. the grower splits part of the profit with the seller or 3. each grower gets full profit and the seller does their part to keep it going while having the luxury of not spending valuable time at every market. What does this accomplish? It incubates small businesses in Pasco county, provides local chemical free food to consumers, and gives us a simple model to keep our vision member run. If you are interested in joining the group let me know here or in a private message and I will add you to the expanding group. Thanks, Travis Morehead
