In this TED talk Amanda Palmer talks about the art of asking and how many artists are ashamed to ask for support. She says: When we really see each other, we connect with one another. When we ask we make ourselves vulnerable. Us creative people, artists of all sorts, often have to struggle with that we ourselves dont see the value in our contribution to society, because it is not seen as a normal job and so easily dismissed as a hobby! Amanda explains it very well in her video. But a world without music, art and culture would be a very bleak world and probably not survivable. We, artists of all sorts, make the invisible visible, we open your heart, we allow you to dream again. Artists, people like me and many of my artist friends need your direct support. We love to give and most of the time we give for free. So, if you are touched by my art support me and share my work, my videos, my stories. I cant do it alone and I strongly believe I have a message to share and I cant wait until one day someone might discover me … I want to connect with as many people as possible and I want my work to touch and open as many peoples hearts as possible. I want to be able to live and not just get by. In the future, there will be many ways in which, if you happen to love my work, you can support me. I will incorporate a few things Amanda is doing to be able to continue her work. It is about an exchange, giving and receiving. I love giving, but in order for me to continue sharing my work so freely with you I need your support.
