PPP preview for Tuesday, Dec 2: A rookie police officer shot a 12-year-old boy to death in an incident the weekend before Thanksgiving. According to the report, the young man was pointing a gun at people when the police were called. The cops arrived and told the boy to stop. He didnt, and instead reached for his weapon. Thats when the officer shot him. It wasnt confirmed until later that the boys weapon was just a toy BB gun. Some say this is evidence of police discrimination, calling it another case of a trigger-happy cop shooting a young black male. Others say the boy had no business out at night pointing a gun at people, and if he had done what the officers told him to do, he would still be alive.
