PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING By Debbie McBee I give you praise as my God, my King, and my friend. I thank you for ministering unto me and for pouring fresh water upon me. You have bathed me in your love and I cannot help but worship you. In the midst of all of my trials, you are there. You have never left me, but you continually bring me comfort and peace. I am so grateful for a renewed spirit and a renewed life. Though misunderstandings and mysteries are present, they are only for my learning. Because of your love for me, I do not dwell in confusion. I dwell in the safety of your hand. In you, my Lord, all things are possible, and failure is not an option. I thank you, for in the heat of my trials, this is where you are sharpening me and not allowing me to become dull in the Spirit. I give you glory and honor as my Savior, and the lover of my soul. I praise your holy name! * PRAYER INSIGHT By Don Grigsby Peace is the Hebrew word Shalom. It never means the absence of turmoil. The letters shin, lamed, and mem make up the word. Mem stands for chaos or the waves of the sea. Lamed is the tongue or that which can rule or have authority in our lives. Shin is the fire of God and power of God to destroy or make victorious. In the covenant with Gideon, the Lord destroyed the very thing that was making Israel live in dens and caves. We can have the same bunker mentality or we can be assertive and full of faith that God will cause the truth and revelation to triumph in our lives. Trials are never punitive, but they open the doors into a dimension of worship that takes us beyond sorrow and joy. It releases us from conditional joy and sorrow and places us in the presence of everlasting joy that never ceases.
