PRAYING INTO HIS GRACE To some this is a symbol that validates the weakness and futility of the human mind… The need for a savior signifies the fear and insecurities that arise from loss and failure…. That man in fact is the savior of himself… Yet in the past decade I have seen men and women of high and low statue, rich and poor , the strong and the week fall to addictions … To be on the battle field and see plainly the spiritual warfare that takes place as scores of these people have taken their own life… Several have hung themselves, others jumped off of buildings and bridges one stepped into a train, another drank antifreeze, they have shot themselves, stabbed themselves, overdosed ….. I have seen this vicious and endless cycle of death with my own eyes. I have felt the despair as my own heart has been stretched to its limits in the aftermath of these storms of death! The mothers, the fathers, the wives husbands and children all asking the same question “WHY WHY WHY”. In all this I have to say; the heaviest weight of grief was not from the death or its aftermath, it was from having the knowledge that their savior Jesus Christ was but one heart sent prayer away… Matthew 11:28 Come onto me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest ! T0 some, to me, this is a symbol of a growing and endless freedom that comes from a savior whose name is Jesus Christ… To be delivered from selfishness into righteousness ( right acting spiritually)… To be given a heart that feels passionately for people, to love beyond limit is a part of our spiritual inheritance … Except the gift , pray to Him, and enter into the rhythm of His grace. In that rhythm of grace you will hear the truth , and that truth will set you free…. Peace and love Calvin
