PRESERVE APLEY - IT’S A SPECIAL PLACE - follow the link at the end of this post and see what is planned - which includes the removal of some trees adjacent to Apley Pool so new residents have sweeping views for the woods and we get views of the vast over-development of the precious area!! THERE ARE PLANS SUBMITTED FOR 550 HOUSES & A SMALL CENTRE ON THE MAXELL SITE MAKE SURE YOU OBJECT IT’S YOUR AREA AND YOUR RIGHT! Objection: It’s an over development and stretches the current infrastructure. It should be a different scheme. Why: We are in danger of losing the focus of this being a ‘special place’. It was established as such but this will be eroded. Why: Residents do not want over development; they feel it will stretch the area to breaking point, overloading it with traffic. Why: The woods and community need to breathe. People from all over Telford come to this area to enjoy the open space, the woods and the water meadow. Why: The Parish Council want to preserve the area. Why: Our MP Mark Pritchard is against high density development. Why: In the immediate area there are currently 209 properties being built in Leegomery (Hadley Park Road area) and a further 93 at another site locally. Why: The consensus is that the local council and the planners are not listening. Why: Currently there are no available school places but children have to be educated. This simply leads to bigger classes and cramped conditions. It should be a different scheme We need: Primary school, doctors and dentist, local amenities, housing, parking, HQ for Wildlife Trust, who would like to relocate to Telford. Views endorsed by FOAW; APA; AWPG; Apley’s parish councillor and local residents.
