Pa Buharis one-point agenda up in smoke. ALERT!! NEWS Buhari will not probe past corruption- APC Chairman, Odigie OyegunMY TAKEI think were seeing not just a complete denial of essence of Buharism but also a forewarning of the internal crisis that will cripple Buharis govt should he win. Ill explain shortly. The hollowness of APCs foundation is very evident here. If Buhari is going to be elected on an anti-corruption platform yet wont probe past corruption, why all the fuss then? Mere deceit? And why do we pretend that we dont know most corruption cases usually have their roots in past corruption? If Buharis govt is confronted with a fraud case that arose from say, the defunct Nigeria Airways (just an example), so hell wave it aside and well continue like before? Again, so a sternly anti-corrupt Buhari, a man of integrity will be President yet case files of clearly-established corruption like Siemens, Halliburton and Malabu scams will remain closed? Ha!In my opinion, two possibilities are likely from Oyeguns declaration... 1) Gen. Buhari has been taken prisoner by the political forces sponsoring his bid and the whole anti-corruption noise is a complete ruse used to play on the intelligence and emotions of Nigerians seeing how tired we are of daily news of corruption. To demonstrate this incipient capture of the General, remember his statement when the issue of the high cost of APC nomination form came up? Well, he said, “It’s a pity I couldn’t influence this amount to be reviewed downward...I looked left and right, I couldn’t read sympathy on anybody’s face...so I kept to myself but I felt heavily sorry for myself... That should give you a clear idea of how Gen. Buhari will be pocketed by his political owners and handlers, from small things to big things. From Oyeguns statement, it should be clear to any sincere Nigerian what will happen in a Buhari Presidency. 2) Gen. Buhari is merely playing possum, waiting to get into power then turn against those his sponsors. Very possible. But will (2) above be feasible? Do we think Tinubu and other corruption-tainted fellows like OBJ, Timipre Sylva and Rotimi Amaechi are so naïve that they trust Buhari implicitly to the extent of not having their own Plan B for their own protection? And if Buhari turns against them and they produce that Plan B for their survival, isnt that a clear call to internal crisis in Buharis govt? APCS AIMIve said it before and I make bold to say it here again. The aim of Buhari and his supporters is NOT to effect any serious CHANGE whatsoever in the polity. Even a child can see that Nigerias corruption problem is so deep and fundamental that a mere change in Presidents is just cosmetic. The screams of anti-GEJ Buharists have NOTHING to do with the (non)performance of President Jonathan though the latter gives even the most hypocritical politician the opportunity to attack his lack-lustre, tepid leadership. APC simply latched onto Buharis anti-corruption image, heavily commercialized it and is taking advantage of the obvious leadership lacuna we experienced today to fulfil what I detected long ago as a design to return power to the North. Nothing more pretentious! Theyre merely campaigning for a CHANGE of power from the South back to the North where they believe it should be. Simple! In a multifarious country like Nigeria, forwarding a sectional agenda may be within anyones rights but for crying out loud, dont hide behind a broomstick in doing that! Dont decieve Nigerians in doing that! Im aware my position is very politically incorrect but hell, Ive never been a politically correct person. I barely know what it even means because Ive always been just myself. I agree APC is a govt in waiting... However, its deeper motives are being revealed by comments like Oyeguns and I only pray Nigerians will be astute enough to see this VERY CLEARLY. In 2011 the deceit was : I had no shoes and we voted sentimentally. In 2015 the deceit is: well stop corruption and were about voting.. ~ Iyke Durumba
