Parts Counter Technician - East Syracuse, NY Provide overall customer service and support to the parts department by assisting customers and employees with phone inquires and ordering of parts. Provide internal and external customer service at front counter and via phone regarding parts, orders, and availability. Proactively use suggestive selling techniques. Order parts from contracted vendors by entering orders into the computer or by placing over the phone. Research part numbers for price quotes via various vendors and suppliers. Maintain department files and computerized inventory control system and verify the physical stock count against the computer every time stock is added or removed to ensure inventory levels are available. Perform shipping and receiving duties. Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations. Perform other tasks as needed in support of the Parts Manager. High school diploma or GED and one to three years of parts or customer service experience required. Must have at the time of hire, and maintain throughout employment, a valid NYS drivers’ license free of major infractions. Forklift certification desirable but not required.
