Pastor Mikes Daily Devotion Tuesday December 23, 2014 Revelation 14:3, They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. The space shuttle Challenger, 73.62 seconds into its launch, exploded, killing all of its crew, including school teacher Christa McAuliffe. An investigation to determine the cause of the disaster showed the problem to be the failure of some of the seals on the Right Solid Rocket Booster. Because of the failure of these seals, lives were lost. We are first introduced to the hundred and forty-four thousand spoken of in todays verse back in chapter 7 of Revelation. These are Jewish evangelists, twelve thousand taken from each of the twelve tribes of Israel. In Revelation 7:4 we were told that they were sealed by God. This seal is for the purpose of their protection as they do Gods will evangelizing Israel during the time of tribulation. Those who the Lord seals are kept in perfect peace, and unlike a seal made by man, Gods seal will never fail. We see, for the third time in Revelation, the singing of a new song. A new song was first sung by the saints in heaven when they came to a fresh awareness of the grace of God as Jesus received the title deed to the earth. We saw this new song sung again by those who came to faith during the tribulation. Their deeper awareness of Gods grace came from missing the rapture because of unbelief, but experiencing Gods grace in the midst of the tribulation. Now, the one hundred and forty-four thousand sing a new song, because even though Israel rejected Messiah at His first coming, the Lord is now doing a new thing amongst His people. Jesus said: Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. There will never be a time when Gods grace will cease or fail. It is when we are in heaven that we will have a full awareness of it. If you are a born-again believer, embrace it, because God has sealed you with the Holy Spirit. If you have yet to repent and receive Him, you need to answer the constant knocking upon the door of your heart today. Psalm 96:1–2, Oh, sing to the LORD a new song! Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to the LORD, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
