People keep talking about the 1%, and how unfair it is they have so much money, and dont pay enough taxes. Well I was a little surprised to find the following data from 2008: The top 1%, (who earned more than $380,000) paid 38.7% of the federal taxes. The top 20% paid 94.1% of the federal tax bill. The bottom 40% pay -10.1% (That is correct, negative). The bottom 60% pay -7.4%, and the bottom 80% pay 6% of the federal tax bill. Thats right, 20% of our population pays for 94% of our government. Whats unfair about this?
