People want SUCCESS yet they are not prepared to put in the WORK! I thought having my own barbershop would be easy, yet its taken me more than TWO years to get one. TWO years to be consistent in my craft. TWO years of making & learning from my mistakes. TWO years of searching for the right property and applying (and getting rejected multiple times which seriously made me wanna give up!) for numerous leases that I thought were perfect before being finally accepted for Riccarton Rd in the best location of the lot! TWO years of planning and saving for my shop so that Id be in no debt to start with, this includes living cheap on a budget and not buying stuff that I want like a flash ride LOL. TWO years of working late night shifts and early morning starts to build clientel- in the beginning I would start at 6am & finish about midnight so I wouldnt turn away a single person wanting to get cut by me. TWO years of living out of my comfort zone doing things like teaching other people, sharing my story (that is somewhat humiliating) all in the effort of being authentic and real myself so that I can encourage authenticity and honesty in other men, facilitating dozens of tutorials, investing more into others than Ive ever had invested in me... yet people think by a Facebook fan-following Im SUCCESSFUL? Young people- social media may have aided my business but it doesnt get up at 6am to work a 12 hour day! You want to be successful then put in the WORK! People love to FRONT success but behind the scenes dont wanna get their hands dirty and do something called SACRIFICE!! God gave most of us TWO hands and TWO legs. He blessed me with my talent and now its up to me to put in the WORK that SUCCESS costs! Nothing is free and the world owes me nothing... You wanna be someone? Then WORK at something! This is the biggest piece of advice Id give anyone starting out!
