People who talk about race all the time are such buzz kills, me included. I just , I mean, correct me if Im wrong, I think that my kids are worth as much as the rich kids or the middle-class white kids. I know that when Sandy Hook happened it was devastating to see and hear, I remember the thought of What if that was my kid. Im just wondering when enough white people of the 85% are going to have that thought cross their mind when a child that looks like mine is shot in the head by an officer making a weed arrest or a storm kills several kids who look like mine, and care enough to actually make sure it doesnt happen to ours in the number it does. It makes me very angry to have to throw something as silly as pigmentation in peoples faces, but the feeling of the families for several generations come first, before the comfort of strangers on social media. Im Rachel, I am a bitter blackish woman.
