Planning Resume workshop. DCRP students received relevant feedback on their resumes from experienced planners. The panelist were a mix of DCRP alums and current doctoral students. Thank you for taking the time to meet with our students. Every little bit helps in todays job market. Panelist included: Leigh Anne King (MRP ’05) – Clarion Leigh Anne King, AICP, LEED® AP, has worked on a variety of public sector planning projects, with a primary focus is on developing public engagement strategies, analysis of community conditions, and development of policy frameworks. Mathew Palmer – DCRP Doctoral Candidate His current and future research centers on the intersection of the built environment and urban sociology. Specific applied interests that evaluate social impacts of land use, design and transportation projects. Alan Steinbeck - Renaissance Planning Group His focus as a planning and design professional has been overseeing projects and programs integrating issues of transportation, land use, sustainability and design. Henry McKoy - DCRP Doctoral Candidate He is a seasoned professional in community and economic development, policy, government, and finance and has served in the North Carolina Department of Commerce where he was appointed by the Governor in August 2010 as Assistant Secretary. Pete Farquhar (MRP ’94)– Grants Manager, Self Help The nonprofit Center for Community Self-Help (or Self-Help) combines several organizations that together provide financing, technical support, consumer financial services and advocacy for those left out of the economic mainstream. Kristin Frescoln – DCRP Doctoral Candidate and Research Assistant at the Center for Urban and Regional Studies with research interests that focus on interventions for vulnerable populations, health and the built environment, and children and families.
