Please SHARE this photo & information with any veteran you know who is in need of employment Burlington-Northern Santa Fe Railway has job openings for veterans, and they give veterans preference. In fact, in 2014 alone they were looking to hire 5,000 new conductors to replace retirees alone. That year is already over, and they have far fallen short of that goal by approximately 4,000 hires due to an apparent lack of interest by the general public. Considering the numbers of veterans actively seeking good employment, this is totally unacceptable. The problem is apparently the lack of knowledge or publicity concerning this. BNSF pays new hires to train. The training lasts around 16 weeks. New hires begin receiving compensation the minute they begin training. BNSF also pays among the best in the nation. All employees belong to a union, with several unions represented. No minimum wages are being paid here, this is EXCELLENT money. There are few places anyone can expect to receive the equivalent pay of a degreed college graduate without having attended college, but this is one of them. I work in a related field working for a contractor who does business with BNSF. If I was younger, you had better believe Id be among the applicants; but I am also very pro-veteran and this is why I am trying to get as many veterans as possible to check into this. VETERANS more than anyone else, DESERVE a decent paying job and career considering the sacrifices they have made for our nation.
