Please allow me to take a moment to THANK everyone who stood with me during these 11 months. I loved all of it!! And I never will be able to say, I wish I had tried. I did try!! I met amazing people that have lives of challenges that no one should endure in this country. They invited me into their homes and offered their support to me. The people who I have met during this campaign are simply put, blessings in my life. Those who jumped on board without hesitation! Having the backing of two of the most prestigious Womens Organizations in Massachusetts - MA Womens Political Caucus and Planned Parenthood; the understood my story, they believed in my message and knew I had a story to share. I believe in equality for all! I am so proud they gave me so much opportunity! Molly of course gave me the added push on the tough days, always supporting me, asking her friends to help and we had so much fun together! Our day off to go to Hampton with her friends was such a great day and we really needed to be by the sea. Taking that break recharged us. The lessons about people I have learned will stay with me for the rest of my days. Someones word, their loyalty, conviction, how they will do and say anything to get what they want, to have witnessed this first hand is not as disillusioning as it is to have actually thought I believed in a few of these people. Politics has its dirty side and I witnessed far more than I care to admit! I guess what blows my mind the most is how someone who has never met me, spoken one word to me has so many judgments to pass. Thankfully I will not forget them or their motives. And then of course their are those who I thought were friends.....well that is the biggest lesson of all. The words of inspiration and congratulations I have received today, the phone calls, emails and texts has been amazing. It is unfortunate Oxford is split into 2 districts, I was thrilled to have so much support from the other side of town too. My committee of volunteers did not treat my opponents with accusatory remarks or disrespect. They remained focused on our message!! My Campaign Manager George Goulas and his wife Elaine, poured themselves into this journey! When we had that conversation over 11 months ago about starting this campaign at their kitchen table we never knew how much we would all gain from from this awesome campaign a campaign we can be proud of. Many lessons! Thank you to Danielle Morrow, Tom Sullivan, Debby Heinz, Diane and Mike Pare, Leah Filipkowski, Ryan Donovan, Kevin Earley and Mimi Mumm, my sister Shirley, nephews Jack and Bub, Michael Falcone, Sam Washburn-Baroni, Steph and Jim Higgins, Keith Ennis and all of those who made donations, helped spread the message and shared so much love with Molly and I. Congratulations to my opponent Mark Dowgiewicz! 6th Worcester District, please support my friend Karen Spiewak!
