Please help pass the word to parents and teachers in the area: The Chattanooga Autism Center is hosting “Building the Parent/Teacher Team” workshop. It will be a great resource to parents of children with disabilities and teachers who have children with disabilities in their classroom on how to collaborate to give the child what he/she needs to succeed every day at school. When parents and teachers work together everyone wins, especially the child. Parent, Trish Cox, who has a teenager with Asperger’s and one of his former teachers will share how they worked together in 5th grade and the result was a landmark year for her son. Handouts will be given so that you are ready to hit the ground running and be ready for that oh-so-important first day of school on Thursday.
