Please join us on Tuesday, September 10th from 10-11am and 3-4pm in the White Oak Room (A-300) to meet our two finalist for the Director of Student Activities search. We value your participation and feedback in this very important position at the university. The Director of Student Activities & Events is responsible for the ongoing development and improvement to the quality of student life at the University of Houston-Downtown. The Director will lead a collaborative, holistic approach to enhance student learning and personal development outside of the classroom through social, cultural, community engagement and leadership programming planned strategically for our student population. The Director will manage the coordination of campus events, including scheduling facilities and event calendar maintenance. This position is also responsible for coordinating major traditional events such as Welcome Week, Fall Family Festival, and Culture on the Bayou and New Student Orientation. The Director is expected to be a role model, facilitator, leader, and an essential person in the effective process of student development and in supporting the various clubs and organizations on campus, including Greek affiliations.
