Please read, From a mother to all of us, Dear Joyce, I would like to take the time to express my sincere gratitude for your taking the time and thought to include Victoria in the Filing of The Bill to officially declare May as the Month of Kindness. This act as I am sure you know is an extraordinary act of kindness extended towards my daughter and the children you included. Children who for one reason or another may eventually feel their voices go unheard. To give them the distinctive knowledge, at their age, that they have the ability to effect change over the laws that govern the ways in which people conduct themselves is to empower a generation of leaders. Your generosity and genius is in recognizing that these children, are the leaders of tomorrow. I don’t believe, having been given this concrete demonstration in activism and democracy that they will ever sit back in a history class or watch a social condition unfold without the knowledge that they can change it. Because of your gift, the word “Bill” will never be just words written on a blackboard for these children. They will understand it is a vehicle for change. What an amazing gift you have given, with such a positive message (kindness and generosity) for change at a time when the World needs it most. Joyce as Tori’s mother I would like to say a special thank you for recognizing in her, the kind, generous spirit that so often goes overlooked. She has embodied this spirit since her birth.
