Please read this. Quote from this letter..As a fellow parent said recently, a teacher’s working conditions are the child’s learning conditions. This does not bode well for our children, as so many educators are leaving their profession. The more I read on this subject, the more I wonder if the powers that be in Washington (or Nashville) really care about educating children. It is all about numbers, not children. Everyone loves to blame teachers. Walk a day in a teachers shoes before you judge what is wrong with todays schools. The elite private schools are untouched by education reforms, and they continue to prosper and show great results. That would be because they let teachers teach children, not test taking skills.
