Please see the message below from Michelle Jones, Parents for Public Schools of Starkville president. On Thursday evening, August 22, the Starkville Consolidated School District Commission will hold a public hearing on their work as the Starkville School District and the Oktibbeha County School District are merged into the Starkville Consolidated School District. The meeting is being held at the Greensboro Center from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. It is important that all the stakeholders in our community make every effort to attend to show our interest in the common goal of improving the education of all the children in Oktibbeha County. I have attached some suggestions for comments at the meeting. This is by no means exhaustive, but might give you a some ideas to begin articulating your own hopes and concerns. To that end, Parents for Public Schools of Starkville and the Starkville Foundation for Public Education have created a pledge to the children of Oktibbeha County which may be found at the Parents for Public Schools of Starkville website. We believe that these tenets will establish a framework that will lead us through this process in a productive manner and help guide us all toward a successful future for our children.
