If you don’t have a monitored fire alarm system installed in your home, consider getting one. We’ve had more than our usual share of house fires in the last few months & most of them could have had a different outcome if there had been a *monitored* fire alarm system installed. In recent years these systems have come a long way, and when properly installed & monitored by a reputable company they are pretty reliable. I know that the added monthly fee for a monitored alarm system just isn’t possible for some. But for many, it’s all about priorities - making it affordable might mean just cutting back on a few premium channels or a night out .
