Police disallow Qaid Geelani’s press conference over Kishtwar Police on Monday disallowed Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Geelani to address a press conference hosted at his Hyderpora residence here in connection with Jammu communal violence. Police and paramilitary CRPF personnel were deployed in strength in the vicinity of his house to restrict media persons from reaching to the venue. Police personnel, most of them in riot gear, were placed on nooks and corners at Hyderpora with all entry points almost sealed off. Qaid Geelani had called the press conference over the communal clashes in the mountainous Kishtwar district in which three people were killed and dozens have been injured so far. It was going to be his first media interaction after the incident. He had earlier called for two day strike on Saturday on Sunday in response to the communal clashes.
