Police from Port Stephens Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a woman’s body on a property on the central coast yesterday. The alarm was raised when a 41-year-old woman failed to show up for work (Monday 21 July 2014) which was out of character. After a number of inquiries were made, police were contacted and a search for the woman was commenced on a property in Girvan. The search comprised local police, Police Rescue and Dog Squad, together with the Westpac Rescue Helicopter. About 8.30pm (Monday 21 July, 2014) the body of a woman was located in a paddock on the property. A horse, complete with saddle, was also located in the paddock. A crime scene was established while police conduct a full investigation. At this stage police believe the death is not suspicious. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
