Possibly my last and most sensible contribution as the we draw close to the end of the campaign period. DPP promises subsidized iron sheets and cement. While I have on many occasions expressed my admiration of the DPP manifesto, two strategies which I believe form the heart of the manifesto are what I would call poorly thought of proposals in the economics sense; the subsidies on iron-sheets and fertilizer. What we need are industries producing these; or industries producing other commodities that will help reduce pressure on forex, hence drive the exchange rate down; not a senseless subsidization of foreign companies.
