Prayer and Repentance “The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged” (Psalm 69:32, NLT). Established in 2011, August 26 is officially held as a public holiday in Papua New Guinea, specifically a National Day of Prayer and Repentance. Today, let’s join with believers there as they humbly seek the Lord. Together, let’s pray using 2 Chronicles 7:14, “…if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land” (NLT). • Praise God for this National Day of Prayer and Repentance! Pray that many Papua New Guineans will honor this day with personal prayers and times of repentance. May God speak through His Word and encourage this nation. • Pray that the work of Bible translation in Papua New Guinea will continue to advance. As people receive God’s Word in the language they understand best, may it be used to build and unite the Body of Christ and bring repentance and transformation to this land of great diversity.
