President Shaka Barak of The Marcus Garvey Institute (MGI) brought a dozen large red, black and green flags to the Bud Billiken Parade in Chicago and allowed participants to carry them in the parade. Shaka Barak also carried a large framed photo (seen leaning on post near Brother Maceo Thomas) of the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey the founder and first President General Of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League, the father of Universal African Nationalism. As he walked down the parade route he let thousands of on-lookers to reach over the fence and touch the picture of Marcus Garvey, Shaka will be hosting the 128th Birthday Celebration for Marcus Garvey Sunday August 17, 2014.
